Yuji Nagata will celebrate his 20th anniversary as a pro wrestler with the latest show produced by himself in his local Togane, titled “BLUE JUSTICE IV”. Nagata’s last show in Togane on 9/12/09 was a major success with 2,600 fans turning up, and saw him team with Akebono in the main event to defeat Bad Intentions. Last year he produced a show at Korakuen Hall on 8/30/11 with he and Jun Akiyama defeating Nakamura & Yano in the main event. This show will be back at Togane Arena and he suggested that his generation rival and good friend Akiyama, the current Triple Crown holder and GHC Tag Team Title co-holder, could possibly appear again. Nagata spoke about his past factions like G-EGGS and Team JAPAN, and how he might organise the card with these in mind, which could possibly see the likes of Yutaka Yoshie, Kendo Kashin, and (more unlikely) Kazuyuki Fujita appear.

And as you can see below, another epic poster has been designed for the show.

Yuji Nagata followed up on his recent win over Masayuki Kono by completely defeating him on All Japan’s Sumo Hall show earlier in a Cage Death Match. A bloodied up Nagata knocked out Kono who has been feuding with Nagata over the honour of his mentor Masakatsu Funaki, who Nagata injured at the Tokyo Dome in January. It’s unknown if this ends the feud until Funaki returns or if perhaps Nagata might enter the Champion Carnival again. Kojima also appeared on the show in his old haunt, pinning Seiya Sanada.

Nagata made an appearance at a “Corazon Pro Wrestling” show at the Mizuno Futsal Plaza which is adjoined to the Ajinomoto Stadium. He had been in the stadium itself as a special guest before the FC Tokyo vs. Kyoto Sangha FC football game in the J LEAGUE began. At the latter event Nagata wrestled Kazuhiro Tamura of STYLE-E and defeated him but had a lot of praise for the young man, calling him strong.

Masahiro Chono and Tiger Mask will both be making special appearances soon. Chono will be appearing on the Real Japan show of original Tiger Mask, Satoru Sayama, on June 17th in an undetermined match, but most likely one featuring Ganso Tiger Mask. The current Tiger Mask will appear in Michinoku Pro, teaming with two men he has long history with, Jinsei Shinzaki and Dick Togo.

Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Takashi Sugiura lives up to his promise with a New Japan invasion on the first of the May Korakuen double header, bringing youngster Atsushi Aoki with him to battle Hirooki Goto and young lion Kazuchika Okada. This will come two days after Goto’s IWGP challenge, so he could be wearing the title by then. After another inconclusive finisher in the LOCK UP main event, Wataru Inoue and Tomohiro Ishii have their third and possibly decisive singles match in a Falls Count Anywhere Match where the bout can finish anywhere in Korakuen!

Due to the conspiracy between Nakamura and Yano, cards have been updated for the ongoing tour with Nakamura teaming with GBH members, which seems to suggest Nakamura is in GBH but with Goto being preoccupied, who knows for sure. A series of matches between the ousted Tomoaki Honma and GBH members have also been set up.

Sunday’s Sumo Hall show just got some added spice. After his tag match in Okinawa, Nagata was sneak attacked by former friend Iizuka, who beat Mr. Saikyo bloody and caused him to be stretchered out. Nagata demanded a card change and now the Nagata & Goto vs. Yano & Iizuka tag has been dissolved into two singles matches - Nagata vs. Iizuka and Goto vs. Yano! The twist to Nagata vs. Iizuka is that it will be a Chain Death Match, the same concept that Tenzan vs. Iizuka was last October when Iizuka put Tenzan to sleep. Goto vs. Yano will be a normal singles match but important for Goto to try and build more momentum leading into his IWGP Heavyweight Title challenge against Sunday’s main event winner.

Yuji Nagata finally relinquished his grip on ZERO1’s World Heavyweight Title today, falling to generation rival and 01 boss Shinjiro Otani in a 20 minute thriller. Nagata seemed unstoppable in 01, having beaten Otani himself previously, as well as the two victories over Masato Tanaka, so had suggested that if he beat Otani again, 01 should be absorbed into New Japan. It wasn’t to be, as Otani edged out Mr. Saikyo with a Dragon suplex to recapture the belt. Nagata told Otani that he had raised the value of 01’s belt and now it was Otani’s responsibility to act as a strong pillar for the struggling company. The ZERO1 fans applauded Nagata, who will now likely focus on New Japan activities again.

- World Heavyweight Title: Shinjiro Otani (c) beat Yuji Nagata New Japan (20:48) with a Dragon suplex to become the new champion.

Yuji Nagata will make his V4 defense of ZERO1’s World Heavyweight Title against Shinjiro Otani after the company president pinned Wataru Inoue in a tag match today. Otani is considered ZERO1’s last hope, even though Nagata bested him in a singles match shortly before taking the belt from Masato Tanaka, but few from 01 know Nagata as well as Otani. No date for the defense has been announced as yet.

Nagata made a successful V2 defense of his World Heavyweight Title at today’s ZERO1-MAX show at Shinjuku FACE. He downed the Tenka-Ichi Jr. Tournament winner and former dojo mate, Tatsuhito Takaiwa, after a pretty tough fight. Nagata was then confronted by who else but ZERO1-MAX ace and the man he took the belt from, Masato Tanaka, who demanded their Tokyo Dome match be a title defense. Nagata accepted and it looks all set! 01 also announced that from January their organization name will become just ZERO1.

Shinjuku FACE

- World Heavyweight Title: Yuji Nagata New Japan (c) beat Tatsuhito Takaiwa (17:53) with a backdrop suplex (2nd defense).

He has conquered ZERO1-MAX for longer than anyone expected, winning three Fire Festival tournaments in a row and reigning as ace and champion for a long time, but now Masato Tanaka must face the one and only Yuji Nagata and see if he can really hang up there with the big boys. Tanaka overcame Kohei Sato in his latest World Heavyweight Title defense on ZERO1 soil, a match many thought could be the one where he finally let go of the belt. But a victory in close to 16 minutes meant he held on to the belt and now he is risking it against Nagata. It is now official, Tanaka will make his next defense of the title in his match against Nagata at Sumo Hall on the 13th, meaning two big singles title matches go up one after another!
