* Wins for many of the outsiders in the big 1/4 build-up matches, the New Japan tag teams losing all three of the main matches including the heavyweight/junior ace team of Tanahashi & Devitt falling to their Tokyo Dome opponents, Kojima & Ibushi.
* Kojima, for really the first time since coming back to New Japan, went into full heel mode after the main event, KO’ing Tanahashi with a lariat and putting one foot on the fallen ace as he raised the IWGP Heavyweight Title. The fans booed him and told him to go home, and Kojima said to them, “I’ll go, you idiots!”. Tanahashi was carried out on a stretcher.
* Young lion Kazuchika Okada made a surprise appearance ahead of his Tokyo Dome return match, dropping Takayama with a German suplex to send a message that he is stronger than before and ready to go at the Dome!
* Taichi’s mystery partners turned out to be TAKA Michinoku and NOSAWA Rongai, the three beating Liger, Kanemoto & Taguchi.
