01. The Wrestling Album [34.56 MB]

 

The Wrestling Album was an album released by the World Wrestling Federation in 1985. It featured mostly recent theme tunes of wrestlers on the roster at the time. The Derringer song "Real American" was originally intended for Mike Rotundo & Barry Windham, then known as The U.S. Express, but is best known as Hulk Hogan's theme song. Most of the songs were produced by 70's rock musician Rick Derringer and Cyndi Lauper's then-manager David Wolff. Frequent Meat Loaf producer/songwriter Jim Steinman composed and produced "Hulk Hogan's Theme", which was used on the Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n Wrestling cartoon. Cyndi Lauper particpated on the album as a backing vocalist on "Real American" and as producer of Captain Lou Albano's track under the pseudonymn of "Mona Flambé".

 

The album was briefly reissued on CD by Koch Records, who briefly licensed the master rights from Epic/Sony in 1998.

WWF Aggression was an album released by the WWF in 2000. It featured rap artists doing versions of each wrestlers entrance music. This was the first album featuring a collaboration of commercial artists performing themes, an idea that continued two years later with the WWF Forceable Entry album featuring rock artists and again with WWE Wreckless Intent featuring both rap and rock artists.

WWF Forceable Entry was an album released by the World Wrestling Federation in 2002. This was the last album sold under the WWF name. It featured mostly rock bands doing versions of each wrestlers entrance music. Tracks 6, 8, 13, 18 and 19 can still be heard on TV today. The album had a sequel released in May 2006. It was the first album the WWF/WWE released under a deal with Columbia Records.
