3. [12.27.2003 @ Pennsylvania National Guard Armory, USA - Philadelphia, PA] Great Muta (Keiji Muto) & Arashi beat Christopher Daniels & Dan Maff (16:07) when Muta used a Shining Wizard on Daniels (3rd defense).
4. [12.27.2003 @ Texas Woodlawn Gymnasium, USA - San Antonio, TX] Great Muta & Arashi beat Shawn Hernandez & Pete Lothario when Muta used a Shining Wizard on Lothario (4th defense).

How were they able to make 2 defenses on the same day, in 2 far away states?

Tenryu didn't stop working for AJPW regularly until 2005. Muto became President during AJPW's 30th Anniversary tour (late 2002) and Mrs. Baba transfered her AJPW stock to Muto mid 2003.

Is anyone else blinded by the lights of the entrance way of the Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan? I have to squint whenever someone is coming down the aisle. It's just so bright. Maybe it's just when I watch DVDs on the big screen TV, as when I watch matches from that venue on the monitor, it doesn't bother me.

How was Kojima's heel turn taken by the All Japan audience? It seems to have been undone rather quickly after his injury so I'm wondering if it was because of the lack of babyfaces or just the fact that he wasn't working out as a heel?

I think the Ryogoku has always been like that. It's just worse when they turn off the rest of the lights in the arena. I know what you mean, though.

I could be wrong, but if I'm reading my title history right, since the introduction of the "modern" (ie 1991) Champions Carnival, only 3 people have successfully used their title shot to actually win the Triple Crown - Misawa (95), Taue (96), and Suwama (08). Am I correct?

Misawa in 1998 got the Triple Crown in his first shot after winning the CC & Mutoh/Muta in 2002 same thing although both title shots occurred months later. Though he was champion at the time of his CC victory, Vader won the title back later in 1999 in his first shot. Taiyo Kea won in 2006.

Misawa in '98 and Vader in '99 were champs coming into the tournament, that doesn't quite work. Mutoh in '02 won the CC, but Muta won the TC... it's subtle but I think it's something. That and the time lapse was very long.

But you're correct about Kea.

I know Misawa and Vader were champs but my point being they regained the TC the same year they won the tournament and in their first title shot so it has to somewhat count definately not 100% but somewhat.

Mutoh/Muta are different gimmicks but it's the same guy portraying them so I personally think it counts.

Not trying to sound difficult or stubburn, just trying to explain my point of view.

Oh, I guess it's a little bit more successful then. I just think it's funny how the CC and G1 are kind of pumped up with "the winner will challenge for the championship" carrot, only to have said winner fail about 90% of the time... :'(

I'm pretty sure Big Show was doing it in mid-2000 WWF before Kaz started doing it in WCW. The move was named because of Show looking like a comedy genius during run-ins on a Rock-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live, leading to Show having an entertainer gimmick.

I love Wada, he makes alot of matches memorable just from being there.

I recall a story on Sack Ahnold's puroresupower website talking about how Tenryu and MUTA were fighting each other outside the ring and Wada got the biggest pop of the night by denying either Muta or Tenryu(I wanna say Tenryu)from using a chair in the match, physically exerting himself in the match.

I think I've got all of them online. There weren't any untaped Champions Carnival ones.

It is phrase on one of Japanese dialect (Chichibu-ben, if it says something to you, part of Kanto-ben). Literally means "Good condition", non-literally something like "so good".
あんべえ (ambee) = 塩梅 (ambai) on standart language.
