According to Purolove. The next tour will feature the All-Asia Tag Titles defended with Nishimura and Soya challenging on 8/22.

Meanwhile, Kikuchi and Ito hae been announced as Kobashi's partners for 8/30 and the Mutoh tag will rightfully  close the show.

Agreed.  Considering the rather bad main events the last few major AJPW shows have had, this seems like a breath of fresh air.  The 25th Anniversary Muto match also looks awesome.

Here's to Suzuki pinning Muto in the tag match. :D

I agree with the ZODIAC thing as the crowd love him but i disagree about wanting Suwama to become champion. If he does win the title then fair enough as i like Suwama but i just dont feel its the right decision. Thats just me thoughts though

- Akebono, Masayuki Kono & Ryota Hama beat TARU, Joe Doering & ZODIAC (Don't think we'll see the ZODIAC turn but It'll be hinted.)
- Riki Choshu & Shiro Koshinaka win. CAUSE THEY GOT CRED.
- NOAH Goes Over. Its Kobashi MoFo's.
- AJPW Jr. Heavyweight Title: Kaz Hayashi (c) vs. Shuji Kondo. I have a feeling, it'll be a draw. Double KO or some shit.
- Keiji Muto 25th Anniversary Special: Keiji Muto & Masakatsu Funaki beat Masahiro Chono & Minoru Suzuki. Suzuki takes the fall due to him being the lowest ranked IMO.
- Triple Crown: Yoshihiro Takayama (c) beats Suwama. He'll drop it by the end of the year, but hell, give him a few more defenses.

- Kono over Doering, due to ZODIAC misfire
- Riki Lariat on Soya, and we see SUPER ANGRY NISH MODE
- Kobashi via Burning Lariat over Yamato.  Lowest ranking of all 3, unless this could lead to the KAI turn
- I LOVE me some Shujui, but this match is just too close to call.  Awesomness Personified, nuff said
- Muto via MOONSAULT on MiSu.  Come on, he has to bust it out one last time
- Double KO? No, that would ruin AJ's cred right now.  I'm still interested as to why Kono is being mentioned as being in Suwama's corner.  Heel Turn Swerve?  Doesn't matter, it is best summed up with 3 words:  stiff, Stiff, and dare we forget STIFF

I have a feeling they will hold onto the belts a while longer, to cement their status are one of most dominant and reigning tag champs.

I would like to see Soya and Sanada already win the damn AA belts tho, it's about f'n time. I wanna see it happen by Jan at the latest.

From the main page...

All Japan returned to Sumo Hall today to celebrate Keiji Muto’s 25th Anniversary, and did so in a big fashion. Firstly, Kenta Kobashi made his first All Japan in-ring appearance since joining NOAH in 2000, and brought along with him another All Japan defect, Tsuyoshi Kikuchi, also NOAH trained Akhihiko Ito.

The show was said to be filled head to toe, and it seems that Satoshi Kojima marched down after the Triple Crown event and challenged Yoshihiro Takayama to a match for the belts, could that happen in Yokohama next month?

AJPW “PRO-WRESTLING LOVE in RYOGOKU vol. 8″, 8/30/09 (PPV)
Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan

1. Seiya Sanada beat Hate (6:10) with a Japanese legroll clutch hold.
2. Minoru & Toshizo beat NOSAWA Rongai & MAZADA (6:23) when Minoru used the FIREBALL Splash on MAZADA.
3. Akebono, Masayuki Kono & Ryota Hama beat TARU, ZODIAC & Joe Doering (8:50) when Hama used the Ryota Hammer on ZODIAC.
4. Riki Choshu & Shiro Koshinaka beat Osamu Nishimura & Manabu Soya (5:53) when Soya used a lariat on Choshu.
5. AJPW World Jr. Heavyweight Title: Kaz Hayashi (c) beat Shuji Kondo (30:14) with a swan-dive jumping huracanrana (4th defense).
6. Satoshi Kojima, KAI & Hiroshi Yamato beat Kenta Kobashi , Tsuyoshi Kikuchi & Akihiko Ito (29:13) when Kojima used a lariat on Ito.
7. Triple Crown: Yoshihiro Takayama (c) beat Suwama (26:21) with the Everest German suplex hold (2nd defense).
8. Keiji Muto 25th Anniversary Special: Keiji Muto & Masakatsu Funaki beat Masahiro Chono & Minoru Suzuki (21:19) when Muto used a moonsault press on Suzuki.

---

Nice to see a full house. Not liking the length of the Triple Crown match, but 6 and 8 are must see.

Hopefully this leads to more Kobashi in All Japan, or at the very least Kikuchi.

I've also been thinking, you know alot of these NOAH guys could/might be getting the axe from NOUH. So since it seems AJ and NOAH are on solid terms, perhaps it could bring over some of those being released for nostalgic purposes. I am not Japanese, but I could imagine alot of die hard AJ fans from the past will appriciate seeing Masao Inoue, Tsuyoshi Kosaka and maybe Yone.

I must see Kaz v.s. Kondo 2 asap!

I can't remember the last time an All Japan show drew that big of a crowd. Dory Funk Jr.'s retirement show didn't even draw that much or even near that amount.

AJPW "PRO-WRESTLING LOVE IN RYOGOKU VOL. 4", 03.01.2008 (PPV)
Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan
8,500 Fans

That's crazy considering these fans see Kobashi all the time. I could understand if he drew a lot more than usual in like the United States or United Kingdom where they don't see him that often and it's considered a huge treat for every wrestling fan. I guess it's just the fact that he hasn't stepped foot in an All Japan ring since 2000. It felt really special for them, that, Funaki's return and Muto's 25th anniversary.

Can't wait for the matches to be uploaded! What a loaded card.

Hase's retirement. They drew well this time around because its one of the strongest cards they have used for Sumo Hall. You have Mutoh's anniversary, Kobashi wrestling in AJPW for the first time in 9 years, & Funaki wrestling for the first time in a decade or so.

- When Kojima challenged to Takayama, Fans Chanted "KOBASHI ! KOBASHI !"
it looks like AJPW fans really want see more Kobashi in AJPW. (Me too :) )

- Funaki failed Tope Suicida. (he's foot didn't pass rope.) but after match, Fans Chanted Funaki's name. more than Mutoh, Chono.. it looks like fans really loved Funaki's each action. except Tope Suicida.

During the 6 man with Kobashi and Kojima, I wonder how many times the announcer said "LARIATOOO!" :D

If Kojima does get the belt back, it would be awesome to have his first defense vs Kobashi. If NJ and AJ were up for it, that could easily be a co-main event for WK IV. How long has it been since Kobashi's done a show at the Dome?

BTW, given that Minoru ate a Moonsault in this one, who bets that Mutoh's partner at the Chono show next month eats a Shining Black to the head or gets submitted in the STS? ^-^

First footage uploaded from the show. I got this from a friend who knows someone from Japan that attended the show. Handheld footage of the main event. Enjoy!

I absolutely love handheld footage. It feels like you're actually in attendance.

NJ wouldn't do an outsider vs outsider singles match at the dome.

So Masa Funaki has signed a contract with AJ. That's a big and very impressive signing. I don't know if he'll ever be what he was once in terms of name power and all that, but he could easily become the babyface Minoru Suzuki in pro wrestling even at his age.

So Hama & Bono have an All Asia Title match coming up...should be interesting. Crazy vs. Hayashi for the title and Kojima vs. Takayama.

Interesting stuff from All Japan.

Wow, that's pretty big. Painful looking tope aside that match was a lot of fun. Funaki looked good considering he hasn't wrestled a pro-style match for 20-odd years. Should freshen things at the top of the card no end.

I believe there was some friendly fire during the match, but immediately after Soya grabbed the mic and literally begged Choshu to teach him his style of wrestling, Nishimura then pretty much banned Soya from muga.

Not gonna lie, consider me not into Funaki wearing the MMA board shorts. Just an aesthetic I will have to get over. He more than likely will make it easy though when he is teeing off on people.

Really looking forward to this card. Like stated above, something for everyone.

Yeah, I'm not digging Funaki in the shorts either.

However, when Suzuki vs. Funaki happens later this month, somebody better upload it! I just hope he doesn't miss another fucking drop kick.

Funaki needs to bring back the green short trunks/kickpads combo that UT loved so much. ::) Didnt like his shorts either, but All Japan is usually very good with such things, so he will get his Hello Kitty-sponsored outfit pretty soon I'm sure. Masakatsu Bearnaki FTW~! (Trivia predicted it!)

That´s great, now if Sakuraba decides to go back into wrestling, that would be awesome...
