2009.03.14 Minoru Suzuki & Taiyo Kea vs Suwama & Shuji Kondo, World Tag-team Championship.
I'd say this was the best AJPW match of this year.

For sure. Suzuki's at his best when he's slapping the piss out of young uns, not falling on his head.

Indeed. Even if his match against Muta sucks shit (nothing compared with his Triple Crown defense against Mutoh), his best showcase is being a disrespectul bastard with a certain love of beating the shit out of the youngers.
Although, I would love to see a dream match of sorts against Angle. A clash of styles and personalities that would make an uber-awesome match.

Suzuki's a fountain of charisma personality, and his facial expressions make it really easy to follow the story of the match whether you underatsnd Japanese or not. He is pretty hit and miss though. When he's on he's on, when he's not... the less said the better.

Mr. Levity wrote:From the opening bell, I immediately wanted Kobashi to knock Suzuki's head off due to his ridiculously cocky attitude and general demeanour ... so I guess he did his job as a heel pretty damn well. By the end of the match, I felt like I'd seen quite an epic. Nowadays, Suzuki doesn't annoy me so much, as I've learned to appreciate his attitude and style.
