Some small tidbits, Kikutaro promised a good time and a surprise at this weekend’s retirement ceremony for Nobutaka Araya! He then encouraged everyone to come view the last match of the “Foolish Brothers” and say farewell to Araya.

Taiyo Kea recieved some ligament damage on the last tour and is back in Hawaii resting, as of now it is unknown how long he will be away from the ring.

Im hoping one of these three win: KAI, Minoru or Kondo
Super CRAZY in Jr League!!!
Bitching? I cant remember actually have a full on bitch fest about Sai's chances of winning so no, there is no shame DJ   Only thing ive been saying...no, chanting is Sato for winner. He made the final with Sai...im quite happy with that result.

Block A has my interests. Besides Every possible Super Crazy combination, which all look fun, we get KAI/Kaz and KAI/Toshizo(I think these two work well together).

Block B seems weaker just because I don't care for Petey of MAZADA. Though Yamato not being the fall guy for a tag or trios team intrigues me. Hopefully he maybe picks up a win on some one.

Block A looks like all sorts of fun.  The only matches I will be interested in Block B will be Kondo's contests.  Particularly Kondo/Minoru.  I've wanted to see that match for a long time.

I'd be fine if this is the only match that makes tape. Meanwhile, Shuji Kondo vs Petey Williams sounds like the worst match ever.

Shuji vs. Petey could be good if it only consists of Kondo lariating Petey and pinning him. Hell that sounds like five stars to me.

Now Petey/MAZADA. I'm crossing my fingers for a time limit draw, just so it exists. Years from now people will go "I heard that there was a 30 minute DRAW between Petey Williams and MAZADA in All-Japan, is that true?" And we'll go, "Yeah, but if you watch it, you'll receive a phone call that basically tells you you've got seven days to live."

VM need to be DQd, it's their gimmick and it rules.  Toshizo is too strong of a contender to have losses if he's doing it clean and not winning, so DQs are a perfect way out.

Should Minoru win this (Which IMO would be great), i think he would win in a title rematch with Hayashi

But then theirs the prospect of young KAI...

that would make sense, give Kondo his win back form Minoru.  although, I would like to see KAI pull it out, and have him start building towards his eventual win over Kaz.  Not in his first attempt, but maybe after Kaz has 2-3 more defenses.  I still think KAI is the future.

Some news from today's Korakuen Hall event. After winning the Junior League, Kondo called out Jr. champion Kaz Hayashi, and the match was basically set up in the ring, and it appears the two had a quick physical exchange however adverting the others attack before shaking hands and leaving the ring.

NOAH's Kenta Kobashi is confirmed for the 8/30 Sumo Hall event, marking his first match in an All Japan ring in 9 years, however it will be in the form of a six-man tag. Satoshi Kojima stated at first he was slightly disappointed, however this meant that KAI could wrestle against a legend, and is excited for the match.

The All Asia Tag Team Titles were the subject of conversation as it was brought to NOSAWA's attention that if they didn't defend the belts in 24 hours, then they would be stripped, NOSAWA quickly sent out an invitation to anyone to challenge for the belts within 24 hours, and if no one responded that it should count as a successful defense.

During the customary opening MC by F4 on today's show (which was done without KAI), as Hiroshi Yamato was leaving the ring TARU came to Yamato with a message, saying "behind you", as Toshizo then attacked Yamato from behind. This spilled over into their six-man tag as Yamato finally got a measure of revenge pinning Toshizo.

AJPW, 8/7/09 (GAORA TV)
Tokyo Korakuen Hall
1,650 Fans

1. Ryota Hama & Petey Williams beat NOSAWA Rongai & MAZADA (5:01) when Hama used a running body press on Rongai.
2. Osamu Nishimura & Manabu Soya beat Masayuki Kono & Seiya Sanada (9:21) when Soya used a sheer-drop Death Valley Bomb on Sanada.
3. Junior Heavyweight League - Semi Final: Super Crazy beat Minoru (8:21) with a horizontal cradle.
4. Junior Heavyweight League - Semi Final: Shuji Kondo beat KAI (9:08) with a King Kong lariat.
5. Satoshi Kojima, Kaz Hayashi & Hiroshi Yamato beat TARU, Hate & Toshizo (13:31) when Yamato used a German Suplex hold on Toshizo.
6. Keiji Muto & Suwama vs. Yoshihiro Takayama & Minoru Suzuki (30:00) ended in a time limit draw.
7. Junior Heavyweight League - Final: Shuji Kondo beat Super Crazy (13:42) with a King Kong lariat (Kondo wins the 2009 Junior Heavyweight League).

“Crusher” Masayuki Kono (as he is being billed in the press) stated that he was advertising his full support of Suwama’s challenge to Yoshihiro Takayama on 8/30, pulling for Suwama to win the Triple Crown away from GURENTAI. Since returning Kono has been a new pain in GURENTAI’s side, as well as making his mark on the heavyweight scene throughout his interractions with Suwama, and stated that he had Suwama’s back for 8/30.

In other suprising news, it seems that while on this tour TARU has been plotting to recruit KAI to the Voodoo Murders, Kojima has launched a counter attack, stating that after this tour he would be visiting America to persuade ZODIAC into joining F4! Kojima stated that ZODIAC has all the perfect qualities of an F4 member and would be a natural fit to the stable, which will soon be celebrating it’s one year anniversary. When asked about TARU’s active persuit of KAI, Kojima stated that he wasn’t worried at all and believed in KAI’s ability to distinguish good from evil, and couldn’t wait to recruit ZODIAC.

Poor draw  :(

Super Crazy in the final is just...WTF lol. It would have been better for Minoru vs Kondo but at least Kondo won the league.

ZODIAC is very charismatic nowadays, i want him to turn face.
Bitching? I cant remember actually have a full on bitch fest about Sai's chances of winning so no, there is no shame DJ   Only thing ive been saying...no, chanting is Sato for winner. He made the final with Sai...im quite happy with that result.

ZODIAC?  ???

I'd much rather Minoru or Joe Doering. ZODIAC is a perfect fit for VDM.I could see KAI go to VDM, but I'd rather he didn't.

Also KONDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6 looks awesome.

Meh.. I'd rather see Suwama/Kondo/Doering as a wild bunch of guys, F4+Doering, GURENTAI, Regular Army, VM..

Doering could be the next Hansen. He has the look, the dedication and power.

Show looks good. Good to see Super Crazy make the finals. Hopefully it means he will do more shows. Since they didn't go for Minoru vs. Kondo for the finals I suppose that means Kondo will take the belt off of Kaz so the rematch with Minoru can at a later date.

Anyone else find it funny that Kono is saying he'll have Suwama's back in ther title bout?  Possible turn, anyone?  Just imagine Suzuki and Kono as a tag, kono using his legit MMA skills to attain dickish heights, I'd LOVE to see that

I guess I'm the only one who DOESN'T dig MMA Kono... he's TALL... I wanna see him pushing people around chokeslamming and all that kinda ish... not being a crafty 6'1" shooter.. that's BS.. give that gimmick to a smaller heavyweight.. I would say Sanada, but has he learned how to do the rolling cradle yet?

I like him fine as he is. If he tried to start working like a big guy now it would just come off as badly awkward. Despite his height he doesn't have the attitude, build, or presence to wrestle as your average tall guy.

I know they needed time for the time limit draw but 8 and 9 minutes for the semis and 13?! for the finals. I am not a fan of that.

I dont have a problem with this as long as they packed a lot of action into those matches and hopefully limited downtime.

Cool that Kondo won the tournament.

The Sumo Hall show looks great and I can't wait for it.

Man, I'll be disappointed if ZODIAC leaves VM since his teams with TARU and Joe Doering are great.

I'm SOOOOOO happy Kondo won the Jr. League.  I was very disappointed when he lost in the finals to Sabin 2 years ago.  Hopefully he takes the title away from Kaz.  I will be getting all of his matches from the Jr. League this year and his match against Kaz.  I have all of the Kondo/Kaz matches on DVD as it is.  They work so well together.

I'll be disapointed too but either way...ZODIAC would be over with the fans, its like when he came out in his entrance in the Carnival when he faced Kea. He had the crowd doing the zig zag thing with his arms and stuff, they obviously like him. If he turned now....sure itd be crap but i think it could help his career.

I have a little bit of doubt about Kondo taking the title from Hayashi. Theres part of me that says Kondo should be champ...but the other says he wont win in the title match...I hope he does though

I don't know I think Kondo could win, I like Hayashi but who's left to challenge? Hayashi has beaten Minoru, Toshizo, & MAZADA while TAKEMURA is injured, Hiroshi Yamato is a lowcarder aad hasn't got a lot of momentum right now, & I figure if they wanted KAI to win the title anytime soon he'd win the Jr. League for the second time.

Kondo's first run with the belt was epically awesome.  I've been pondering uploading the Kondo/MAZADA Junior title match from the 2006 CC.  It was the hardest one for me to find.  I had to buy the show on DVD just to watch it then.

Yes.  Quite brutal.  Probably my 2nd favorite Kondo championship match behind his defense against Kaz @ Sumo Hall in August '06.
