November and December 2012 tour discussion

I've lost the track on All Japan since the show with New Japan, but aside that Sanada's style is basically a poor man's Naito, what else is wrong with him?

He needs a serious change to his character.
Thats why so many have been screaming for an excursion for the guy, or even to become a heel, anything really.

I have to admit looking back he has been given quite a bit. I admit the tag title win was a little pointless if not to progress the Doering wrecking machine persona he has adopted by having him beat down Sanada after their title loss.

My pick to win RWTL is Strong BJW who will in turn take the titles away from GET WILD.
I am realllyyyy hoping that Funaki doesnt end them before that, hate to sound like a broken record but I am digging Soya alot more than I should.
Go Niners!

I don't really follow All Japan either and I've only seen Sanada in a couple of singles matches. When I saw him for the first time he had potential as a rookie in a short match against Renee Dupree a few years ago. For me the problem is that nothing has changed since then, he hasn't improved anything other than add a dragon-sleeper finisher since he must have realised that roll-ups and the occasional Tiger suplex aren't gonna cut it in big matches and main events.
"Poor man's Naito" exactly nails it on the head for me. Naito does everything better by a large magnitude. The biggest difference is the personality and character like Woot said. Naito uses a lot of simple spots too, but manages to pace, structure and execute them with such charisma that his matches can become electrifying. The few times I've seen Sanada I have been left feeling flat and wondering what the big fuss was about.

Pretty much. He has more or less hit a wall and hasn't truly grown in the last 3 years or so outside of adding in new moves which he is rather inconsistent in how well he uses them. Add to that his general lack of personality and it makes him very hard to get behind.
