In spite of his victories over heavyweights in MMA, I would put him in the Jr. Division if he wants to fight in singles. A feud with Tiger Mask over his mask (Saku has said that Sayama is his idol) or a monster-heel run with the belt would be fine for me.

Well, Nakanishi worked his arse off for the company for 20 years, what do New Japan have to thank Sakuraba for on that level? Being the poster boy of PRIDE, which knocked New Japan off its perch and helped send pro wrestling down the drain in the 2000s?

In all honesty, I just wanna see Sakuraba win some gold. He didn't in UWFi (thanks to Takada) and he didn't in PRIDE (thanks to being clinically murdered three times by Wanderlei Silva.

He sure does deserve it more than Shitbata, who by reasons I'll never get gives a collective boner to so many people.

And now that we're at it, Naito deserves it way more than Goto. Come at me.

Sakuraba and/or Shibata with the IWGP Hewiki strap? Hell, no, folks. NJ's heavyweight scene is loaded, and we don't need those two usurpating something great now. I'm all for high profile feuds with Shinskay, Tana, Okada, Nagat, etc. but to give them the main gold? Big, BIG no!

As far as I'm concerned, Okada (obviously) has to win at the Dome and hold it for 6 months at least. He will turn face, of course, and they can always go back-and-forth with Okada and Shinskay on the top, because that feud writes itself. Tana is Tana, he's always super credible, he's the CIMA of New Japan, you can always put the strap on him if you have no another solution. Goto is there, Yujiro will be BOSS, I'm pretty fucking sure, the Machinegun is popular, etc. As much as I find Laughter7 insanely entertaining, they should never go over Okada, Tana or Goto at this point.

And "thank you" reigns are overrated anyway. The only guy who deserves it is Minoru Suzuki, but he's unfortunate because these are great times for New Japan, so his reign is not needed.
