    Important Matches:

    - Ryushi Yanagisawa vs. Yuji Nagata (9/16/02)

    Notes:

Yanagisawa was initiated into Yoshiaki Fujiwara's dojo and debuted in April, 1992. After the formation of Pancrase in May, 1993, he became a regular there, facing Bas Rutten in his first fight. In September of 1993, he made a New Japan appearance, nine years before he would become a regular for the promotion. Throughout the 1990's and into the new millenium, he primarily fought in Pancrase, and later RINGS, with a positive win-loss fight record. On 8/8/02, he appeared under a mask at New Japan's Hiroshima Green Arena show, attacking Masahiro Chono with two other hooded men, and on 8/11/02 he was revealed as Tadao Yasuda's ally in the anti-New Japan Makai Club movement, the two making short work of Manabu Nakanishi & Masayuki Naruse in Yanagisawa's full return to pro wrestling. After plenty of MMA fighting success, he now looks to take over New Japan with the Makai Club, and sports a cocky, arrogant attitude that subjects him to loud jeers in arenas.
