Notes:
Initiated into New Japan in June, 1985 ... Won the 1991 Young Lions Cup in December of that year ... In March, 1992, left for a learning excursion to the CWA promotion in Germany ... Returned to New Japan in November of the same year, having learnt many villain tactics in Europe ... In August, 1993, he became part of Helsei Ishingun group, which opposed New Japan for several years ... Formed a long-standing tag team with Tatsutoshi Goto, nicknaming themselves the Freedom Dog Corps ... Ventured into Genichiro Tenryu's WAR promotion with fellow HI members, Koshinaka and Goto, the three winning WAR's 6 Man Tag Team Title ... In late 1997, he and Goto burnt the HI flag and joined Masahiro Chono and Keiji Muto in the nWo, only to betray them shortly after and rejoin Koshinaka's cause ... On 6/27/99, he and Goto finally found gold as a team, defeating Kensuke Sasaki & Shiro Koshinaka to win the IWGP Tag Team Title, but lost the belts two months later to Manabu Nakanishi & Yuji Nagata ... Joined Masahiro Chono's Team 2000 in February, 2000, assisting Chono in his war against New Japan ... In perhaps the most humiliating moment of his career, he lost to Kensuke Sasaki on 12/23/00 in just 6 seconds ... Began incorporating mixed martial arts aspects on the "SUMMER STRUGGLE 2001" tour, adopting the front neck lock as a finisher ... Suddenly, he began finding more success than he ever had, scoring many wins in tag team matches ... The new knowledge earned him a role on New Japan's 7/20/01 Sapporo Dome show where he lost to Tadao Yasuda ... Made his next appearance for New Japan on the 10/8/01 Tokyo Dome show, being TKO'd by PRIDE fighter, Gary Goodridge, in just 3:36 ... Had his first shoot fight at PRIDE 17 on 11/3/01, managing to take Renzo Gracie to the 3 round limit, but losing 3-0 by decision ... After being kept off tours for several months, he followed Keiji Muto's in early 2002, leaving New Japan, although did not join Muto in All Japan, instead going into intense Vale Tudo training for future shoot fights.
