Absorbed in sport since childhood, winning local Golden Glove championships ... Studied freestyle wrestling, judo, tae kwon do, kickboxing and other combat sports ... A former UFC fighter, who was defeated by Don Frye in the semi final round of the UFC 10 tournament ... Joined New Japan in September, 1997, losing to UFO's Naoya Ogawa on New Japan's 9/23/97 Nippon Budokan show ... Continued his feud with Don Frye, the two getting into a scuffle after Frye defeated Yuji Nagata on 12/4/98 ... Had an intense match with Frye on 1/4/99, but was KO'd after a punch flurry ... Lost to Frye again on 2/14/99, being forced to submit ... Had more bad luck, losing to Kazuyuki Fujita at just 3:55 on 8/28/99 ... Became the fifth member of Yuji Nagata's Fighting Club G-EGGS, joining in April, 2000 ... Appeared in the G1 Climax 2000, finishing third in his group ... Had little trouble defeating Kendo Ka Shin on the 4/9/01 Osaka Dome show, making the junior heavyweight submit at just 2:20 ... Left G-EGGS involunutarily on 7/16/01, after Yuji Nagata disbanded the group ... His future is in serious doubt after he suffered a stroke (blockage to the brain) after seconding Kazuyuki Fujita at the 8/19/01 K-1 show, which caused him to be unable to talk or move his arms and legs ... He remains seriously ill, but while he is unable to do many things, he has made incredible progress and is being deemed a miracle. Please visit his dedication site and leave your well-wishes for Brian. Get well soon, Brian!
